Transitions-Rochester Open House at VSW

Visual Studies Workshop invites you to a special open house event on Thursday, October 13, 2011, 6-10 pm at VSW, 31 Prince St, Rochester, NY.

Come and experience Transitions-Rochester! This community-wide project has commissioned international and regionally based artists to document the changing city of Rochester, NY. Features include portraits and interviews with Rochester citizens, a mural by Rochester street artists the FUA Krew, an installation of sound recordings made underneath the downtown and a video about housing after the 1964 riots. Come and provide your own commentary in our custom gallery video booth. Displays from the Workshop’s visual resources will be exhibited throughout the space. See a myriad of images from our vast collections of lantern slides, news story and street photography, rare albums and books. Screenings and live events in our auditorium are in store throughout the evening.
